I have been doing newborn sessions in my clients' homes for some time now, and I like it because I can really get a feel for the personality and style of the families I'm working with. No two babies are alike, so every session is an adventure and STILL, to this day, a learning experience. I SO enjoy working with families with new additions. It's such a wonderful time in their lives and I'm so blessed every time I get to be a part of it!

I started my business with one goal in mind: to provide families with quality, timeless images. Families, being the core of my business, branches out to kids of all ages, weddings, maternity, and even non-family work, like photography for legal and commercial purposed (which you won't find on this site). But it always comes back to one thing, one very simple value. Family is everything. Family is where it all starts and where it all ends.

Every Wedding is different. Every couple has a story. Most of the time, I get an opportunity to spend a few hours with my brides and grooms before their big day to learn that story but this wedding was different. This couple was planning their wedding from two different sides of the planet. With the groom overseas defending our freedoms, and his bride at home, we weren't able to do an engagement session, or all go visit the venue together, or even all be in the same room at the same time to sign their contract. We made it work, through the magic of the internet, and come wedding day, it was like I was meeting this couple for the first time - largely because I was.

Come to find out their story is a simple one. Boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy follows his heart to the marines, Girl's heart follows his. Add in a BIG, supportive, loving family and we got an absolutely beautiful wedding. Godspeed to this brave couple - and thank you for your brave sacrifice for our country!

Fast.

It's so funny, how time flies. I did this sweet girl's newborn photos - so when this little one's Mama's name popped up on my phone I was glad to hear from her, but didn't think too much of it - but when she told me she was calling to schedule BIRTHDAY photos, I was floored. Had it really already been a year? Almost - and it was time to celebrate!

I had a great time with this sweet girl again, and was REALLY pleased with the way her photos came out.

Happy Easter! What a wonderful time of year this is - preparing to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, the weather is beautiful, there are baby animals everywhere - it's such a great time. I have been working hard with LOTS of Easter themed sessions lately - and I had to share some with you! 

Hope your Easter is filled with more family and blessings than you can keep track of!

You'd think that as many weddings as I see that I could kind of predict what to expect ahead of time. You'd think that as closely as I work with brides that I'd be able to peg the style or scale of the weddings I do before I even arrive on site.

Nope.

Such is especially true with this wedding. This wonderful bride contacted me just a few short months before her wedding - really before anyone else even knew she was engaged - and described a casual mid-day ceremony with a luncheon reception. The level of formality of a wedding doesn't really change the way we work them, but I honestly didn't expect the elegant, detailed, fine-tuned affair that was waiting for us. It was a breathtakingly beautiful wedding. I am so blessed to call this Mr. and Mrs. my clients and my friends!

Seems like every day I'm getting a call or email about a newborn session - and I couldn't be happier about it! I love working with babies - it gives me a chance to visit my client's home, get a feel for their style, and bring out the family's personality though these precious once-in-a-lifetime newborn photos. I am so blessed to be a part of this exciting time for so many families - there just isn't time to blog about every individual baby!
